Renault Car Finance

The leading uk car finance provider

Renault now covers everything from compact city cars and family crossovers to hybrids and a fast-growing electric range. Renault car finance can spread the cost of a new or used model while giving you different routes depending on whether you value lower monthly payments, eventual ownership or the freedom to change cars after a few years.

How does Renault car finance work?

Renault finance in the UK is provided through Mobilize Financial Services. Its main personal products include Personal Contract Purchase, Hire Purchase and Contract Hire.

The agreement you choose affects your deposit, mileage conditions, monthly payments and what happens at the end. A Clio used for commuting may suit a different structure from a Renault 5 or Scenic E-Tech electric bought through a current EV promotion.

Mobilize Financial Services and Renault PCP

Renault PCP lets you choose an agreement term, expected mileage and deposit before making fixed monthly payments. Part of the vehicle’s value is left until the end as an Optional Final Payment.

Current Renault PCP agreements can run for two to four years, with annual mileage of up to 25,000 miles. When the agreement finishes, you can pay the Optional Final Payment and keep the Renault, return it subject to the agreed mileage and condition terms, or move into another Renault.

If the car is worth more than the Optional Final Payment, the difference may be available to put towards another vehicle.

Read PCP Car Deals for more information about this type of agreement.

Why the deposit matters on current Renault offers

Renault often uses headline finance campaigns to attract buyers to selected models. These can include 0% APR, reduced-rate PCP and manufacturer-supported offers.

The deposit requirement is an important part of those deals. Current 0% PCP promotions on selected Renault models require a 30% minimum customer deposit. That can make the headline interest rate attractive, but it also means committing a larger amount upfront.

When comparing Renault car finance, check the deposit alongside the APR, monthly payment, Optional Final Payment and total amount payable. A 0% agreement is not automatically the right fit if the required deposit leaves too little flexibility elsewhere in your budget.

Renault 4, Renault 5 and electric-car incentives

Renault’s electric range gives buyers a different set of costs and incentives to weigh up. The Renault 4 and Renault 5 sit alongside electric models such as Scenic E-Tech and Megane E-Tech.

Selected versions currently qualify for the UK Electric Car Grant, with the saving applied to the vehicle price through participating retailers. Grant values vary by model, so the benefit can be different on a Renault 5, Renault 4, Scenic or Megane.

Electric-car finance should be compared alongside home charging, public charging, insurance, expected mileage and battery warranty cover. A lower monthly payment does not tell you what the car will cost to run.

Hire Purchase for drivers who want ownership

Renault Hire Purchase is more direct. You pay a deposit and then fixed monthly instalments over an agreed term, with no mileage restriction.

Renault currently allows HP terms from two to five years. Once all required payments have been made, ownership transfers to you under the agreement terms.

That can suit higher-mileage drivers or anyone planning to keep their Renault for longer rather than changing it at the end of a PCP term.

A Clio decision is different from an electric Renault

One reason to avoid treating every Renault finance quote the same is the range itself.

Someone looking at Renault Captur Car Finance may be weighing up a compact family crossover and everyday running costs. A buyer comparing Renault Clio Car Finance may place more emphasis on purchase price, insurance and commuting mileage.

The electric Renault 5 introduces charging access and EV incentives, while larger models such as the Scenic or Austral can put more weight on family space, annual mileage and overall monthly budget.

For used buyers, older models such as the Megane, Kadjar or Zoe can also have very different values and warranty positions.

Warranty cover and the length of your agreement

Renault currently provides a three-year manufacturer warranty. The first two years have unlimited mileage, followed by a third year with a total mileage limit of 60,000 miles for most cars and 100,000 miles for fully electric models.

Renault E-Tech electric traction batteries have separate cover of eight years or 100,000 miles.

That matters if you are comparing Renault car finance over four or five years. Part of the agreement may continue after the standard vehicle warranty has ended, so check whether extended cover or a service plan would make sense for the car you are buying.

Buying a used Renault

Used Renault finance can be attractive because there is a wide choice of Clio, Captur, Megane, Zoe and other models at different price points.

Check the service history, MOT record, mileage, tyre condition, previous repairs and remaining warranty before choosing the finance. On an electric Renault, check the battery warranty and any available battery-health information as well.

A used vehicle may also be financed through an independent provider rather than Mobilize Financial Services. Compare the APR and total amount payable rather than assuming the manufacturer route or an outside lender will always be cheaper.

Compare the route that fits your Renault

PCP can work for drivers who want end-of-term choices. HP is more focused on ownership and has no mileage restriction, while Contract Hire can suit someone who would rather use the vehicle for a set period and return it afterwards.

When reviewing Renault car finance, compare the deposit, APR, term, mileage allowance, monthly payment, total amount payable and any Optional Final Payment.
