The Electric MOKE is very different from a conventional family EV. It is an open-sided, four-seat leisure vehicle built for short journeys, coastal driving, resorts and private estates. MOKE car finance therefore needs to reflect how the vehicle will be used, whether you want to own it and whether it is being bought privately or for a hospitality or events business.

How does MOKE car finance work?
MOKE International does not currently promote a captive UK finance company or a standard manufacturer PCP rate. Its website directs buyers towards authorised retail partners, while independent leasing and finance providers can also advertise MOKE funding.
Before comparing payments, confirm whether the quote is Hire Purchase, PCP, Personal Contract Hire, Business Contract Hire or an unsecured loan.
Leasing can suit a vehicle bought for the experience
A MOKE is often bought for a particular type of use rather than as an everyday motorway car. MOKE International highlights hotels, resorts and event companies as examples of businesses using Electric MOKEs for guest transfers, branded shuttles and short journeys.
Contract Hire can fit that use where a buyer wants fixed rentals without planning to own the vehicle. You agree a term and mileage allowance, pay an initial rental and return the MOKE at the end subject to the contract conditions.
Some independent providers advertise low-initial-rental structures, but there is no universal MOKE nil-deposit programme. Compare the total rentals across the term rather than choosing a deal solely because the first payment is small.
Business use needs more than a VAT calculation
The Electric MOKE can make sense for hotels, coastal resorts, estates and event venues because it is compact, quiet and distinctive. That does not mean every business can automatically recover all VAT or deduct every rental.
VAT treatment depends on the finance product, business use and private availability. Business users should ask an accountant or tax adviser to check the exact position before choosing MOKE car finance for tax reasons.
If the vehicle is provided to an employee as a company car, a zero-emission car uses a 4% Benefit-in-Kind percentage for the 2026/27 tax year. Its list price still affects the taxable benefit.
The range makes intended use particularly important
The current Electric MOKE has an official WLTP combined range of 54 miles. MOKE also quotes real-world testing of roughly 45 to 80 miles depending on conditions. Charging takes around four hours, with 80% available in about two hours, and the top speed is 50mph.
Before arranging MOKE car finance, map out where the vehicle will travel and where it will charge. A low monthly payment will not make the car suitable for a journey pattern outside its intended use.
PCP may be available, but it is not the default assumption
PCP relies on the lender setting an Optional Final Payment based on what it expects the vehicle to be worth at the end.
A low-volume, open-sided leisure EV is harder to benchmark than a mainstream hatchback sold in large numbers. Some independent providers may still offer PCP, but the final value, deposit and mileage terms can differ.
If PCP is available, compare the deposit, APR, monthly payments, mileage allowance, Optional Final Payment and total amount payable. PCP Car Deals explains the structure in more detail.
Hire Purchase can suit buyers who want to keep the MOKE
Hire Purchase is more directly focused on ownership. You normally pay a deposit followed by fixed monthly instalments, with ownership passing after all required payments and any purchase fee have been made.
There is no PCP-style Optional Final Payment and no mileage limit linked to handing the vehicle back. That can suit a private buyer or business intending to retain the vehicle for several seasons.

Used MOKEs need careful identification
The used market can include modern Electric MOKEs, earlier petrol cars and vehicles using historic Mini Moke styling or naming. MOKE International warns buyers to use authorised partners when they want a genuine current Electric MOKE.
Before arranging MOKE car finance on a used example, check the manufacturer, registration details, VIN, service history, battery condition where relevant and exactly what model you are buying.
Enjoy Finance also has a MOKE 56 Car Finance page for buyers researching that model name.
A personal loan can give another ownership route
An unsecured personal loan can be relevant where a used MOKE falls outside a vehicle lender’s criteria or where the buyer wants to purchase from a private seller.
The borrowing is separate from the vehicle, so the lender assesses you rather than taking security over the MOKE itself. Rates and borrowing limits depend on the provider and applicant.
Car Loans explains this route in more detail.
Check the current UK buying route before paying anything
MOKE International refreshed its ordering process in 2026 and stopped taking reservation fees for new orders from June 2026. Its website asks buyers to work through authorised retail partners.
The current partner directory lists Hendy Group in Eastleigh as a UK MOKE aftersales partner, while the wider site says authorised dealers operate in the UK and other markets. Buyers should confirm the current retail point, delivery arrangements and finance provider directly before transferring a deposit or signing an agreement.
This matters for MOKE car finance because the funding may come from an independent lender rather than a manufacturer-owned finance company.
Compare the vehicle, finance and use together
A MOKE bought for a hotel fleet has a different cost case from one kept at a holiday home or used as a summer weekend car.
Before choosing MOKE car finance, compare the deposit or initial rental, APR, monthly cost, term, mileage rules, total amount payable and any final payment. Then add insurance, charging, storage and servicing.
