Polestar Car Finance

The leading uk car finance provider

Polestar sells only electric cars, so funding one means thinking about more than the monthly payment. Polestar car finance can cover a Polestar 2, 3, 4 or 5 through personal or business routes, with current offers spanning PCP, Contract Hire and promotional rates.

Enjoy Finance explains vehicle funding and links to third-party providers. We do not provide finance directly, and the website contains affiliate links.

How does Polestar car finance work?

Polestar Automotive UK acts as a credit broker rather than a lender. Its current manufacturer-backed finance products are provided by Volvo Car Financial Services UK Limited, trading as Polestar Finance.

Private buyers can choose Polestar Choices, which is the brand’s PCP product, Polestar Contract Hire or an ownership-focused purchase plan. Business users can access Business Contract Hire, while salary sacrifice may be available through an employer’s scheme.

Polestar Choices puts the final decision at the end

Polestar Choices lets you select a deposit, agreement term and annual mileage. Part of the vehicle cost is left until the end as an Optional Final Payment, which reduces the amount repaid through the regular instalments.

At the end, you can pay or refinance the Optional Final Payment and keep the car, return it subject to mileage and condition requirements, or part-exchange it and use any value above the settlement figure towards another vehicle.

Any equity is not guaranteed. Used EV values can move during a three or four-year agreement.

Current campaigns show why the exact model matters

Polestar is currently using different incentives across its range.

The Polestar 2 and 3 have live 0% APR PCP campaigns. Polestar 4 offers vary by version, while the Polestar 5 currently uses a low promotional rate. Temporary list-price reductions also apply to selected cars.

When comparing Polestar car finance, separate the list-price discount from the finance rate. A £5,000 or £10,000 vehicle discount changes the amount you are funding, while a reduced APR changes the cost of borrowing.

Current Polestar 2 and 3 examples use five-figure deposits, so compare the deposit, total amount payable and Optional Final Payment rather than the monthly payment alone.

The Polestar 2 remains the most established used option

The Polestar 2 Car Finance page is relevant to buyers considering the longest-established model in the UK range.

It is now available both new and through Polestar’s Pre-owned programme, which means buyers can compare a new-car promotional rate with the lower purchase price of a used example.

For a used EV, check mileage, tyre condition, remaining vehicle warranty and battery cover before choosing the car.

Polestar 3 and 4 move the budget into a higher bracket

The Polestar 3 Car Finance page covers the larger SUV, while Polestar 4 Car Finance is relevant to buyers looking at the newer SUV coupé range.

Both can require more upfront cash than a Polestar 2 example. Larger tyres, insurance and charging needs also belong in the ownership budget.

A low promotional APR does not make those surrounding costs disappear.

Salary sacrifice can change the employee cost

Polestar actively supports salary sacrifice as a route into its electric cars. An eligible employee gives up part of their gross salary in return for the vehicle, with the scheme commonly bundling items such as insurance, maintenance, tyres and breakdown cover.

For the 2026/27 tax year, a zero-emission company car uses a 4% Benefit-in-Kind percentage. That remains much lower than the percentage applied to many petrol and diesel cars, although the vehicle’s taxable list price still affects the amount of tax paid.

Savings depend on salary, tax band, employer scheme and vehicle choice. Use the figures supplied by the employer or scheme provider rather than assuming a fixed saving.

Business Contract Hire is built around use, not ownership

Polestar also offers Business Contract Hire directly through Polestar Finance. Current agreements can run from 24 to 48 months, with annual mileage choices ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 miles.

A business pays an advance rental followed by fixed monthly rentals, then returns the vehicle. Mileage and fair-wear charges can apply.

Current business campaigns advertise rentals excluding VAT. VAT recovery and corporation tax treatment depend on how the vehicle is used and the business’s circumstances, so company buyers should take qualified tax advice.

For a business user, Polestar car finance should be compared alongside salary sacrifice, outright business purchase and other leasing routes rather than chosen on the headline rental alone.

Home charging belongs in the same budget

A Polestar is only one part of the EV purchase. Drivers also need to decide where and how they will charge it.

Current Polestar campaigns include reduced-price Zaptec home chargers on selected models and funding routes. The charger promotion is separate from the vehicle finance and has its own eligibility terms.

Before ordering, compare home installation, electricity tariff, public charging needs and annual mileage. A driver with reliable off-street charging can have a very different cost profile from someone who relies heavily on rapid public chargers.

Pre-owned Polestars come with manufacturer support

Polestar’s official Pre-owned programme gives qualifying used cars a minimum 24-month warranty and 24 months of roadside assistance. Cars are inspected and professionally prepared, with a 14-day satisfaction guarantee under the stated terms.

Pre-owned PCP is also available on selected stock.

That makes used Polestar car finance different from simply buying an older EV from an independent forecourt. Compare the manufacturer-backed package with the price and finance available elsewhere rather than looking at APR in isolation.

Compare the EV, finance and charging together

PCP can suit buyers who want choices at the end. Contract Hire can work for someone who does not want ownership, while salary sacrifice and BCH may be attractive where a workplace or business structure supports them.

Before choosing Polestar car finance, compare the deposit or initial rental, APR, monthly cost, mileage conditions, total amount payable and any Optional Final Payment. Then add charging, insurance and likely annual mileage.
